it was not a word that was spoken...
more an electronic action.
it was such a small feat,
that led to so very much.
a "silent" introduction to eternities,
past and present.
enough for me to ask myself...
...."is there something i have done?
have i changed life in such a way,
as to be never forgotten?....
have i said nothing,
to anybody that heard the sirens sing,
the angels bellow low melodies,
or the god sigh with the winds of triumph?"
it was a moment i have thought of often.
such a small moment in time...
almost accidental...
one in which i will forever forget.
and so you madam rose...
you were my love's harbinger.
ever so quiet...
but crucial beyond thought...
the rest of my days will be spent...
showing you my gratitude for those few seconds
of your life...
that changed mine forever.
thank you for the introduction to my world.
i will continue to love her...
one i have never known before.

do's and do not's
i do not know much about interest rates.
i do know i have feelings.
i do not know about the science of life.
i do know that i have opinions about it.
i do not understand money.
but i do know what love is.
i do know i have feelings.
i do not know about the science of life.
i do know that i have opinions about it.
i do not understand money.
but i do know what love is.

i know my now.
it is what i want,
need,
hoped,
deserve.
every day i have it...
my now.
bliss cubed.
an indication of perfection.
a perfect indication,
of what will be....
my later now.
i can see tomorrow through...
my today...
because of,
my now.
my tomorrow.
my eternity.
and so on.
it is what i want,

unpossible dream....
we live on a small speck,
of blue and green.
so so SOOO tiny
in the infinite scheme....
of things.
but what on this earth,
can be bigger
than that which tries to hold it?
your dreams are labeled for a reason,
for they are only there to be seen,
when your eyes are closed.
my dear friends,
i am here as a witness,
and participant....
in a living dream,
that has,
and will continue,
to dwarf this enormously
tiny marble....
and my eyes are open wide.
of blue and green.

crazy love by van morrison
I can hear her heart beat for a thousand miles,
And the heavens open every time she smiles.
And when I come to her that's where I belong,
Yet I'm running to her like a river's song.
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love.
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love.
She's got a fine sense of humor when I'm feeling low down,
And when I come to her when the sun goes down.
Take away my trouble, take away my grief.
Take away my heartache, in the night like a thief.
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love.
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love.
Yes I need her in the daytime.
Yes I need her in the night.
Yes I want to throw my arms around her,
Kiss her hug her kiss her hug her tight.
And when I'm returning from so far away,
She gives me some sweet lovin' brighten up my day.
Yes it makes me righteous, yes it makes me feel whole.
Yes it makes me mellow down in to my soul.
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love.
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love.

knowing
i know that your heart is with me.
i know you are right beside me.
i know that we will be together again soon.
i know we will be together forever.
i know we fit.
i know you will visit me in my dreams.
i know i will see you each time i close my eyes.
i know i will feel you during my time away....
...also
i know that time is fast when we are together.
i know that it pains me to drive away.
i know that time is slow when we are apart.
i know that leaving is the hardest thing....
...but
i know that you love me.
i know that i love you....
...and
i know what this is.
i know you are right beside me.

tender moments
.....there are so many difficulties in the life of most single fathers. we concern ourselves with the safety of our children, their mental, physical and spiritual wellness, and if there is time, we try to fit in something for ourselves....all the while, doing it on our own. i feel that a father/daughter relationship is especially important, for the daughter needs an accurate representation of what men should be like. you build a loving, respectful, trustworty connection that is most important for your relationship....but something still seems to be missing....the love of a lady for yourself that can easily meld with your entire being (entire = daughter and self).....it is a very big deal to introduce a woman into the picture.....
.....well, this picture represents the 'life-picture', and how such a big deal can sometimes be the simplest of things....because it just feels so right. thank you jenny, for making this so easy.

a letter to you
dear sweet beautiful one,
do you know...
how deeply
my love river
flows?
dear tender hearted one,
do you know...
how carefully
i hold your
soul in mine?
do you know...
i will never
treat you with
anything less than
respect?
and honor?
dear young free-spirited one,
do you know...
that if you ever need
to run,
i will set you free
and,
do you know...
that if you need someone
to run
beside you,
i will?
do you know...
that wherever you run,
home-base will always
be in my
heart?
dear passionate one,
do you know...
that wherever your taste
will take you
that i
will always be
there?
do you know...
that your love for me
will always be
matched by that
of my own
for you?
dear questioning one,
do you know...
that i may not
have all
the right answers?
and no matter...
what the
question,
no matter...
how it may
pain me to hear,
no matter...
how it sounds,
my answer, sweet angel,
is always...
i love you.

what is it she does....
other than be.....
other than love?
is there a way to explain....
the loss of anger....
the absence of pain?
i see without my glasses....
our beauty for we....
a change for th'masses.
i used to wonder "if never"....
only now do i KNOW....
the meaning of forever.

You Are My Key by jenny
So it's been said that God made Adam
and from Adam, his own perfect mate.
Legend tells a lost rib to madam,
one gained love, and a sealed human fate.
They knew not what was to gain or lose
knew not of sin, nudity's uncouth.
They'd not felt curiosity's bruise;
She took his rib, gave him love and truth.
And so they fell, and fell together,
out from the garden's great harmony.
Held each other close through the weather,
learned how to surive earth's agony.
They and we are not so far apart,
our tales, actually, quite the same.
I was made with a piece of your heart,
the piece that you had the key to tame.
In taming, enflaming, engulfing
my being with love so true and right.
You fill me, you thrill me, completing
the real (w)me, show'ring man with God's light.
Together, our pieces burn with the
image of one unified God: Love.
and from Adam, his own perfect mate.

introduction to love
when i was twelve,
something beautiful happened.
love was born....
.......inside of me.
i do not remember,
but i am very sure...
of it happening.
......i feel it now.
i know not how she grew,
from a simple piece of my heart.
i know not how she gave me hers,
and how i ever managed not.
.....to drop it.
it is now time.
for the melding of pieces.
pieces of poetry,
love,
artistic peace.
pieces of scap...
others have tried to sweep.
......under the rug.
pieces of a god.
i suppose it is time.
when there is truly no time.
like this present....
a gift....
i have been given.
given or taken...
either way, i earned it.
worked for it.
bled for it.
cried for it...
and it finally was placed before me.
something beautiful happened.
love was born....

from The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran
Then said Almitra, Speak to us of Love.
And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them. And with a great voice he said:
When love becons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yeild to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to earth.
Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.
All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.
But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure.
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives not but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possessses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.
When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, "I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.
Love has no other desire but to fill itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
o wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.
And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them. And with a great voice he said:

hand signals - by jenny
this road
same old, gray, dreary road
has always made me feel partly dead
sepia barns and grasses pass by
none too satisfyingly
turn by the wheelbarrow
there will be an oak tree
and a cow
and then you take a right
I've been down this road a thousand times
but somehow I missed it
I did not see this turnoff before
has this street always been here?
Side road, I think not
change of course maybe; this is no detour.
Holding my breath I make the turn
No, it's not me.
you're driving... and as you take me through the turn
you have your arm out the window to signal Right
and suddenly, as though slamming into a wall
Through a wall,
life switches modes to colorvision
and that old gray barn fades into the distance..

I see you (we) there
on the other side.
These wire diamonds are my (our) only enemy.
I wrap my fingers around the holes and reach
but it's not far enough
and my flesh welps in squares, diagonal
as my body presses into the great divide
There is a door somewhere
some there
where?
I know you (we) can find it. .
You touch me
energy - tangible
effervescence
the light boils on my skin as I reach
to press against that blasphemous wall
most hated wall
why did I build you?
I can feel you around me, in me, through me
I press again with more might and
I
fall.
Hands, head, face, body, fall
heart, fall
I see you (we) there
so close
so, so close
shiver..

The Uses of Sorrow

it took me years to understand
that this, too, was a gift.

what will i do.....
...when your arms
wrap around me
in embrace?
...while i walk beside you
on our path
to the next path?
...when you look
straight through my eyes
and into my soul?
...while you kneel to pray
at the edge
of my trees?
...when you take down
one brick
and then another?
...while you fill my life
in as many ways
as you see fit?
...when you say yes
or no to what is
or is not?
...while you process
all that i say
and all that i do?
...when silence becomes me
as you say nothing
and be?
what will i do....
other than love you as i have,

melding as murder
i killed a man this week.
his name was sada kazundi.
i had an accomplice.
she questioned his being,
before i denied it.
he exists more dead,
than he ever did alive.
i killed a man this week.
i ate him.
his flesh was tough to chew,
but tasted delicious.
i will be full for a lifetime.
there are leftovers,
if you want some.
i killed a man this week.
rest assured, he was deserving.
it was his time to go.
it was my job to do it.
and so it is done.
i killed him.
i devoured him.
and now he is home.

poetic interpretations
there are many rules here,
and there are none.
failure to unadhere...
to none,
and all of them,
may result in thought that does not
belong to you.
the rules themselves exist,
but only in the poet.
what you apply will....
most likely....
fail to break the code.
and while you hem your cloak,
take heed and look...
outside your own window.
what you do,
with what you see,
will define my thoughts.
if you have to ask,
you may never
understand the answer.....
but you will never know,
unless you ask.
and there are none.

I Love You
I love your lips when they're wet with wine
And red with a wild desire;
I love your eyes when the lovelight lies
Lit with a passionate fire.
I love your arms when the warm white flesh
Touches mine in a fond embrace;
I love your hair when the strands enmesh
Your kisses against my face.
Not for me the cold calm kiss
Of a virgin's bloodless love;
Not for me the saint's white bliss,
Nor the heart of a spotless dove.
But give me the love that so freely gives
And laughs at the whole world's blame,
With your body so young and warm in my arms,
It sets my poor heart aflame.
So kiss me sweet with your warm wet mouth,
Still fragrant with ruby wine,
And say with a fervor born of the South
That your body and soul are mine.
Clasp me close in your warm young arms,
While the pale stars shine above,
And we'll live our whole young lives away
In the joys of a living love.

If the flames of anger rise any higher in this land Your name on your tombstone will be covered with dirt.
You have become a babbling loudmouth. Your insolent ranting, something to joke about.
The lies you have found, you have woven together. The rope you have crafted, you will find around your neck.
Pride has swollen your head, your faith has grown blind. The elephant that falls will not rise.
Stop this extravagance, this reckless throwing of my country to the wind. The grim-faced rising cloud, will grovel at the swamp's feet.
Stop this screaming, mayhem, and blood shed. Stop doing what makes God's creatures mourn with tears.
My curses will not be upon you, as in their fulfillment. My enemies' afflictions also cause me pain.
You may wish to have me burned , or decide to stone me. But in your hand match or stone will lose their power to harm me.

irony or just plain shit?
i love the trees.
they talk to me.
they calm me.
they keep me breathing...
and yet i am a woodworker.
war disgusts me.
i support the troops.
i am a pacifist.
i had an A10 pilot tell me once,
"i kill people for a living."
so i built him a shadowbox when he retired.
he displayed all his honors.
he was proud of it.
i put my best into it.
it was beautiful,
and it was made of wood,
and i paid him to kill.

about tomorrow....
tomorrow i know....
i will smoke less than i did today.
i will eat healthier than i did today.
i will strugle with the two of me.
i will appreciate said struggle for what it is.
i will love you as much as i ever have.
i will not expect anything from you.
i will appreciate the day.
i will be.
i will smoke less than i did today.

all i ever wanted
for all the love,
that has been and gone,
right before my eyes,
the ups and downs,
and inbetweens,
have come as no surprise.
there was a night,
for my tender heart,
to fill with gentle bliss,
a chance to live,
as a loving man,
an opprotunity i would miss.
it is what it is,
and was what it was,
a time i will not let go,
for it is in her days,
and in her nights,
my love will try to show.
i passed that moment,
of my hopes and dreams,
thinking she may never see,
that all i ever wanted,
quite simply put...
was for she and i to BE.

charity and good
i found a note in the bottom of a can.
thank dog i had my shovel.
a muse'd.
it read...plus or minus...
where did we meet?
by tippy's default,[thInking]
all those numbered streets...
we had one.
i new you and you new me.
not know. or now,
but then.
i fell asleep for just a minute
and there you were.
again. [thInking]
a night of mirror balls.
i read your pictures
they said "TRY ANGLE" [thInking]
it worked.
my exercise
is also yours.
see you there
at the gym.
nazium
craze ium?
convertible
trees hugging a house
style of a snapshot
poems to have [thAnking]
lived buy.
three eyes and an a.

the things i learned last weekend
-i learned that "chicken dust" is making people crazy....and i believe it. now, when something happens to you that IS crazy, you can say, "man, that's chicken dust!", or quite simply, "CHICKEN DUST!". perhaps even, whilst conversing with a friend that says something chicken dust'ish, you can ask them if they have been snorting chicken dust. i like it.
-i learned that cats come in ALL sizes. i have been around many large cats, and even owned the largest i have ever seen....but to see a freakishly small cat is a bit odd. i mean, a mostly adult cat that small...really? i am tellin ya...it is a chicken dust thing to see!
-i learned that when talking about really expensive shampoo, you must interject a 'fucking' inbetween syllables. (sham-fucking-poo). it works well, and is pertinent to acheiving the proper level of emphasis on the out-fucking-rageousness of the price.
-i learned that when a under-aged, large, speech-impediment-talking, religious-poem-carrying, recently-released-from-a-detention-center, wife-hittin-on dude walks into a nice cheers-like bar....people start talking.
-i learned that people really like to open up around me....and if my company sits next to me then it happens to them instead. chicken dust..i know!
-i learned that the last time you saw her, she wanted to crush your face with a bottle, and now, after thinking about it for 19 years, she likes you, but wants to smash your florist's face with her fist. now that, my friends, is chicken-fucking-dust!
yup, it was that kind of weekend.....and i loved every second of it!

alpha's young
it began when life granted a wish...
the alpha's wish.
it was to you...
for you...
and it was good.
growth...
experience...
the 'life'...
and periodic bouts of allergenic love.
never too far from home,
but sometimes...temporarily.
always returning
from where you came.
but now your time has come,
to go back to the alpha.
she will want you there...
when life grants her...
her next wish.
to you.
for you.
and because of you.
the alpha gave you life...
love...
and strength.
and you...dear one,
are the reason...
the reason she loves...
the reason she dreams of tomorrow...
and the reason she will win.
the alpha's wish.
it was to you...
for you...
and it was good.

am, an, & i
i am quite sure
that posession of such beauty
is warranted only
by divine selection.
a stirred color
of perfectly chosen proportion.
heaven's hue,
never duplicated.
features found
in pharaohs' toombs
and grace of spirit
of elders' love gone.
nothing more than what it is
will suffice
just to feel it
through the wire.
